Healthy ageing
From beginners to experienced yogis, my students range from 50 to 93 years old. I help them to build strength, balance, flexibility, and the ability to de-stress... all of which are essential as we age.
Healthy lower backs
I deliver a specialised, evidence-based, 12-week course for people who experience back discomfort and pain.
Think of yoga and we often think of skinny young women in lycra doing all sorts of contortions. Yeah... these classes are not like that!
I run three weekday classes of women - and a couple of brave men - of all shapes and sizes, some in their fifties, many in their eighties, all of whom want to age functionally and remain independent as late into life as possible. Research shows that people over the age of 50 benefit most from yoga. That's why we do it.
Our classes are light-hearted and full of laughs. We look after each other and welcome new students warmly.
Gentle Yoga is mat based. It requires you to be able to get up and down off the floor. Chair Yoga is for you if you can't do that... although you'll be surprising yourself soon enough.
These classes are for people experiencing physical, emotional and mental fatigue and overwhelm. You will leave feeling deeply rested, restored and re-energised.
We focus on gentle movements, breathing exercises, meditation and yoga nidra (sometimes known as yogic sleep). This will help your body to heal and your mind to gain clarity and perspective.
These classes have been of great benefit to some recovering from operations or cancer treatment.
Small groups or 1-2-1s help me to tailor the practice to individuals' needs .
My availability for these sessions is pretty limited but let me know if you're interested.
This is a specialised, evidence-based, mind body approach to improving back function so that you can get back to being more active with less or no pain.
